Precious pictures made from real leaves are our special development. Perhaps you are familiar with the lotus effect? This refers to the low wettability of the surface of the lotus leaf. This is due to the extremely complex surface structure of the lotus leaves.
Viewed under an electron microscope, the leaf's structure appears extremely rough. Microscopically tiny papillae are lined up like a carpet, their tips coated with a lotus-specific wax, and tiny air pockets form between the papillae. A drop of water – just like a drop of paint – has the urge to form a sphere due to its high surface tension. When the drop comes into contact with another surface, the forces of attraction begin to take effect. The water droplet wants to wet the other surface. Due to the dual structure of the surface (papillae with air pockets and wax at the tip), the droplet rolls further and further due to gravity until it finally comes to rest in the calyx. On its way "down," it takes all the dirt with it.
This is the famous self-cleaning effect, which is now being copied or imitated by the industry.
So how does the color get into our leaves? In a complicated process, we dye each individual leaf. The hardest thing is to make a green lotus leaf shine a lush green again. We only use textile dyes that are chemically below all threshold values.
When it comes to the golden veins of our lotus objects, the completely different surface structure of the veins benefits us during the finishing process. The "artist's gold" is applied to these veins using a special process and ultimately makes each object shine like a natural relief.
Each lotus picture or lotus object is therefore a unique, intricately handcrafted piece. Whether in a wellness area, doctor's office, office, hotel lobby, restaurant, stairwell, living room, bedroom, or bar: with our lotus leaf paintings, you can add colorful and exotic accents to your "living spaces." The panels react to the different light incidences, constantly changing their appearance.
